In May 2019, a woman from one of the photography-focused Facebook groups I've joined posted that she was looking to do a TFP shoot. She's normally behind the camera doing nature photography, but she decided that she wanted to branch out and try modeling. I'm always down to expand my portfolio, so I happily responded to her request.
We decided to meet up at 9:00 am on a Sunday morning. It was my first time doing a shoot in the morning, so I was a little worried about how to account for the harsh sunlight. In the end it actually worked out well, because we were able to find shade as needed.
In general I think the hardest part about this shoot was figuring out how to pose Katie. Throughout the shoot I had a vague notion in my head of how I wanted the photo to come out, but I struggled a bit to actually translate that into direction. Posing is definitely an area that I plan on working on for future photoshoots.
I also learned the hard way that I need to be more mindful about objects sticking out of the subject's head in my photos. Using the magic of Photoshop I had to remove a pole in several of the photos. To me, it looks very obvious when I see the photos.

I do like how the photos came out from this shoot, however I definitely learned that I have a lot of areas of improvement. There are definitely some poses that I could have implemented better. I need to learn to be more mindful while shooting instead of just spraying and praying. I do believe that better habits will come with more practice.
