A little
less than a month after getting my camera I did a photoshoot with my friend
Jessie. Truth be told, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. The vast
majority of the time was spent walking around the Arizona State University
campus and taking random shots, hoping that some would come out good. I
actually did end up getting some decent results, much to my surprise. It was
exciting, being able to recreate some of the classic portrait shots that I love
to look at so much.
During the
shoot, I went back and forth between using my 18-55mm kit lens and my 75-300mm
kit lens because I wanted to know what the different effects were. I probably
had the camera in aperture-priority mode, though I don't entirely remember.
Thinking back on this photoshoot, I think the best lesson learned is that the
first step to learning photography is to just go out and shoot.
